I meant to do this yesterday, but I must post it now before I forget it:
I had a lovely dream the night before last! I was in America on holiday, and I was staying in a big, beautiful hotel that used to be a mansion on the edge of a huge field. After the first night, I noticed there were some construction workers building a marquee thing not very far away from my hotel. I went and asked them what they were doing, and they said they were setting up for a special outdoor performance for some stand-up comedian. This piqued my interest, obviously, because I'm a comedy fan, but I didn't know who it was.
The day after that, posters were up in the hotel saying that Craig Ferguson was the one who was going to be performing. I got all excited until they said all the seats had already sold out, then I got all sad until they
(I don't know who 'they' are, by the way - it's that kind of dream-knowledge you acquire out of nowhere) said that anyone could bring a blanket and grab a spot of grass for free, but it would be very obstructed vision. Of course, that didn't stop me.
At 5am the next day, I got up with my snuggly blanket and started to head to the marquee. On the way out, I met another girl who was also going to the marquee to see Craig - she was ill and tired, but she was determined to go see him anyway, and she had a camera with her. For some reason, I couldn't go back to get mine, so she promised she'd send some of the pics to me through e-mail. We went down there and got a good spot, not too far away from the stage, and chatted for a bit before drifting off to sleep.
I don't fully remember what happened when we woke up, but I'm SURE there was some sort of event. Anyway, Craig came out on stage and started to do his routine, but the microphone was completely dead so he had to go back offstage and wait for the tech guys to fix it before he could start again. Me and the girl (whose name I'm pretty sure was Elizabeth) sneaked around the back to try and get a few pre-show piccies. He saw us and waved us over, and we had a nice chat about...stuff...monkeys might have been involved. Anyway, then one of the tech guys came up and said it was going to be a while, so Craig just sat back and put his arm around me (SQUEE!) and we all chatted for a bit more, whilst Elizabeth took more pictures. Just before he went back onstage, Craig gave both me and Elizabeth a peck on the cheek and thanked us for our company.
When I woke up, my first words of the day were "oh FUCK, I thought that was real!". :'(
One day, dammit...one day I'll meet him...
The odd thing about that dream was that it wasn't only meeting Craig that filled me with happiness, but also meeting Elizabeth. I hope to meet a real 'Elizabeth' one day, she was so unbelievably nice ^_^
Anyway, that's enough of my stupid dream. :)
