Firstly, I am shocked and saddened at the death of Michael Jackson. I'm not by any means one of his fans, but 50 is far too young for anybody to lose their life. May he rest in peace.

Secondly, I am once again shocked and saddened to hear of the annual Canadian seal slaughter. I was vaguely aware that this existed, but I had no idea that it was this cruel and heartbreaking. I am posting this video here, but I should warn you there are disturbing scenes captured.

1. Who are your heroes/idols and why?
Ooh, tough one, there are many...I'll try to narrow it down to my top three.
Stephen Fry, for obvious reasons, really. Although what I've been through doesn't even come close to what he's been through, he is still my inspiration that I can be successful and respected no matter what happens.
Neil Patrick Harris, for being one of the first celebrities to be gay without it being their defining feature. Makes me proud to be bi.

2. Given the chance to shag any ONE comedian, who would you choose?
Oh, that is mean! I suppose I'll have to say Brad Sherwood, although I've been obsessed with British comedians recently. I'd list all the comedians I would bonk, but my fingers would start to bleed from excess typing. The main candidates are Lee Mack, Alexander Armstrong, Jason Manford, Jimmy Carr, Michael McIntyre and Sean Lock.

3. What do you picture yourself doing in ten years' time?
Writing for a magazine or a television show, possibly with a novel published. Hopefully by then I'll also be living in San Francisco. *crosses fingers*

4. If you could play any role in any film ever, which role would you want?
Gracie Hart from Miss Congeniality! She's exactly the kind of character I identify with. Fantastic lines, too. "Have fun directing the Miss San Antonio's Correctional Facility pageant!" I already have her snorty laugh, hehe.

5. If you invented a cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), what would be in it and what would you call it?
I'm not much of a cocktail drinker, I generally stick to beer with the ocassional glass of wine. I know what I wouldn't put in it, though - beer, wine, whiskey, lambrini, milk and a teabag. If I did, it would be called The Hospitalisation.

Hey guys! Long time no speak. I know I said I'd do a proper post, but I have one more waffly one, and I swear I'll do a proper one SOON!! I really do have a lot to talk about!

Anyways, I have the evening off because I had my Statistics exam this afternoon (which went well, yay!) so I'm taking requests for fandoms and pairings. I recently got Sunrise Avenue's latest album, Popgasm, which I'm shamelessly promoting here - it's awesome, go get it!!! - and I'm making a multi-fandom vid to one of the songs, 'Something Sweet'. It's a lovely, schmaltzy, romantic song, but I don't have enough fandoms to pad it out. If you could suggest a few, I'd be really grateful! New haircut - whaddya think?

I cannot believe I haven't already spazzed out about this: I HAVE NEW HAIR!!!
This is the shortest it's been in years, and is one step closer to my ideal style. I just need to save up enough cash to get it coloured red and copper ^_^

On a completely unrelated note, I have fallen head-over-heels in love with Globus and Immediate Music - go search their stuff on YouTube, I GUARANTEE you will not be disappointed, particularly if you like movie soundtracks or epic orchestral pieces. YUMMM!

*sigh* I knew I'd start blubbering like an idiot...

Dancing On Ice final was just stunning, as always. Great to see all the old faces, particularly Roxanne ;)
I death-glared Coleen. ^_^

I was very surprised that Donal made it through instead of Jess, but I'm also somewhat glad - although Jess is a fine performer, she's never really endeared herself to the crowd. Donal's journey was incredible; looking at his VT, his early days were like watching Bambi learn to walk, and to progress to what he is now is...unbelievable.

Ray obviously deserved to win. Nuff sed. He's da bomb. AND MY FUCKING AGE!!! *sends telephone number telepathically*
EDIT: Oh, forgot to say: second year in a row I predicted the winner from the very first show! Woot!
Also, it occured to me that although Ray was almost a dead cert and my favourite to win, I actually wouldn't have minded if Donal had won because of his persistance and progression; if Jess had been in the final two and won, I would have been mightily pissed off.
Just one more thing... (/Peter Falk) the tour is in just three weeks!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Wow...I simply can't wait for next year! (Assuming I'll have a TV I can watch it on at uni; otherwise the parents will be taping it and sending me a copy each week ;D)

Now I'm getting emotional and teary again, so I'll love you and leave you.

Haha, even my Dad has picked up on how much I hate that Coleen keeps getting through. Halfway through her "performance" tonight, I went and got a beer.
Dad: Is Coleen dancing?
Me: How did you guess?
Dad: She's driven you to drink.

EDIT: Ding, dong, the witch is dead! WOOO!!!
Okay, that's a little harsh; it's the public I'm mad at, not Coleen. Coleen is lovely, just undeserving. It's just hit me how sad it is that Roxanne and Zoe didn't get a chance to get this far. :( But at least there are three worthy competitors in the final now.
Only a month until I go see the tour!!! ^___^

Just booking all my train tickets, now, squeee! ^_^

My mum was a saint and rooted around the interwebs for my English coursework results.

It's a C.

On the negative side, that's lower than I was expecting. On the positive side, it means my overall English A level grade is now a B, which is what I need for uni, so I don't have to retake the Shakespeare exam!

We've also figured out that for me to have secure grades for Bangor, I need to get at least a D in each of my Maths exams. That's doable, right? I'm going to devote every second I can possibly stand to doing Maths, I am DAMN WELL going to university!!!!!

AS level results

God, today has been a long day. Got up at the crack of dawn to drive into Hampshire to pick up my Maths results, only to find they weren't coming in until 1pm. Drove back home and had to rearrange my Statistics lesson in order to pick up the results. Phoned Purbeck School to see if the English results were ready, but the head examiner was too busy to talk to me; they'll be posted and I should have them by Monday. Drove all the way back to Hampshire to collect the Maths results; didn't understand the marking system at all so I went home again to phone AQA. Dashed to my Statistics lesson in Blandford, and after that raced home to get to my Pure Maths lesson. At 7:30pm, I was finally allowed to have something to eat!

Pure Core 1
88/100 - A

Pure Core 2
59/100 - D

Mechanics
60/100 - C

Overall grade: C

I'm a little disappointed with Core 2; I knew I hadn't done spectacularly well, but I thought it was at least a B :(
Conversely, I'm immensely pleased with the A for Core 1!!! Was not expecting that!

But what really, really sucks (and hit me like a punch in the stomach), is that if I had got just ONE MORE MARK in each exam, I would have got an overall B grade! D:
Still, a C is good, and puts me on the right track for uni :)
I'll have a clearer view when I get my English coursework results next week.

Now, must shower and drink heavily to relax! :P

I hope everyone else is well, and other people getting their results today got the grades they were hoping for!!! xxx

Seriously! Who the fuck are these people who keep voting Colleen in??? Are you blind? Because that I can forgive, but seriously. SERIOUSLY. She is nowhere near the standard of the others, she's never even entered the 20's in her scores. Shame on all of you for, as Jason oh-so-brilliantly put it, making this a popularity contest.

We've had so many fine contenders leave because of her (and, earlier, Todd). I wish I could go back in time and eradicate her from the contest to see what fantastic performances we would have missed. Michael, Melinda, Roxanne, and now Zoe, will all be sorely missed by me.

Sorry to get so emotional about a silly show every week, but it gets to me how idiotic the public can be.

Wow, my maths tutor seemed to be in a very bad mood today.
I started one of the questions, and I thought I was doing it right (even though it was headache-inducingly difficult), then he stops me with "Have I taught you to do it that way?"
What the fuck was I meant to say to that!? Obviously the answer was 'no', even though I thought it was 'yes', but no matter what answer I give I'll look like an idiot! In the end, I remained in a confused silence until he explained what I was supposed to do. Then I did it wrong again. He softened a little and agreed that the question was badly worded, but he still seemed a bit pissed off at me. Eventually I got the answer 100% right, and he let me off any extra work, so it all turned out okay in the end, but my word that was an uncomfortable lesson...

Typical, the very week I fall head-over-heels in love with Roxanne and she has to leave. This is exactly what happened with Michael.
Colleen DOES NOT deserve her place. Next week is the QUARTER FUCKING FINALS, she will be up against Donal, Zoe, Jess and Ray. She is nowhere fucking near their level of skating!!! At this rate, she'll win the whole damn competition!

Still, I'm going to see the tour this year, so I'll be able to cheer Roxanne on with all my heart ^_^

UCAS update!

I love it when something happens on UCAS - it reminds me that in just a few months I actually will be going to university!!

Sheffield Hallam finally accepted my withdrawal and updated UCAS as such. Which meant I was finally able to declare my preferred and insurance unis (Bangor and Roehampton respectively). I'm on the main road, now. Just got to put the petrol in the car (and by that painful analogy, I mean put all my concentration into getting a good mark in English and Maths).

I think I might actually cry with happiness; this has been a long time coming, but I've never felt closer to it than right now ^_^
